Jupiter and Mars are close together in the evening sky. Look for them low in the west-southwest once the sky is fully dark. Jupiter is brilliant, but Mars is only 1/20 as bright. Mars is a scant 1 degree to the upper left of Jupiter tonight, but they will separate quickly in days to come and will be 6 degrees apart at month’s end.
