Saddleback 84, Fullerton 74--Marshall Freeman was 12 of 15 from the free-throw line in a victory for Saddleback (11-9, 3-2). Freeman had 31 points and 15 rebounds. Fullerton (15-6, 3-2) falls out of first place.
In a women’s game:
Orange Coast 64, Santa Ana 44--Chantay Peyton scored 13 of her 17 points in the second half as host Orange Coast (16-7, 4-1) pulled away from Santa Ana, which is ranked third in the state.
Orange Coast was ahead, 29-25, at the half and outscored Santa Ana, 35-19. Natalie Weeks and Jennifer Ludwicki had 10 each for Orange Coast and Rochelle Anthony had 13 for Santa Ana (15-3, 4-1).
The victory leaves Cypress, Irvine Valley, Orange Coast and Santa Ana tied for first.
