Southland Olympians

Rusty Smith of Sunset Beach is one of at least five Southern Californians listed so far on the U.S. Olympic team roster for the games in Nagano, Japan. Some team spots still are not settled. Other Olympians include:

* Figure skater Todd Sand, 26, of Thousand Oaks;

* Figure skater Michelle Kwan, 18, of Torrance;

* Long track speed skater Derek Parra, 27, of San Bernardino;

* Hockey player Guy Hebert, 31, goaltender for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
