A sheriff’s deputy arrested a Los Angeles couple on suspicion of breaking into a Thousand Oaks department store early Saturday and dashing out with armloads of merchandise.

Anayny Guerta, 22, and Lucy Gil-Cedillo, 20, were booked into County Jail on suspicion of burglary and are being held on $100,000 bail, a jail spokeswoman said.

Deputy Dennis Sliva was on patrol near the Ross Dress for Less at 396 Moorpark Road about 4:30 a.m. when he noticed a “suspicious van,” according to a Sheriff’s Department report.

Sliva called for backup and then saw several people get out of the van, break the glass in front of the store and go inside, the report states.

Spotting Sliva as they left the store, the suspects dropped the merchandise and ran, the report states. Guerta and Gil-Cedillo were arrested a short time later. Two suspects got away.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to arrests and criminal complaints against the suspects still at large.
