Coach Bill Fitch thinks the Clippers, who have lost nine of 13 games this month, need to get back to work.

The Clippers reached a low point in an 18-point loss to the Denver Nuggets Saturday night at the Sports Arena.

“We convinced ourselves that we were tired after our [six-game, nine-day trip],” Fitch said. “We haven’t had many practices. Now we need to get back to work.

“If this were baseball we would have struck out, It doesn’t make any difference whether they throw curveballs or fastballs, we’re just not hitting.

“I don’t have any answers for the way we’re playing.”

Guard Brent Barry, who sat out Saturday night’s game because of a heel injury, said he has been bothered by the injury for two weeks.

“It’s gotten to the point where the pain is unbearable in the morning,” Barry said. “I have no lift and explosiveness. Take those two things away from me and I’m behind the eight-ball.

“I’m not getting any better and I’m not helping the team.”
