A national cellular phone company has given a high school in Newbury Park two cellular telephones and 160 free minutes of air time per month.

Newbury Park High School is the ninth school in Ventura County to benefit from AT&T;’s Safe Schools program. The schools selected receive the telephones and local air time to use during the school year, company officials said.

The phones can be used in a variety of school situations, such as by teachers, administrators, security guards, crossing guards, parking lot monitors, playground supervisors or parents and teachers traveling with students on field trips.
