Skateboard Park Plans Approved
While several cities are considering skateboard parks, the City Council took a large step this week toward actually building one.
Council members approved conceptual plans for a 10,000- square-foot park, which would be part of the proposed $22-million community center at Alicia Parkway and Paseo de Valencia.
Council members also asked project designers to come up with drawings for a fossil theme in the main lobby of the center and a nearby playground.
Some council members expressed hesitation at using an archeological theme for the lobby but in a 4-1 vote agreed to look at drawings before making a final decision.
