Isuzu Credit Company Opens

Isuzu Motors America Inc. opens its new credit company in Buena Park today, bringing almost two dozen new jobs to north Orange County.

The Whittier-based Japanese auto importer says the credit company, Isuzu Motor Acceptance Corp., will handle wholesale inventory financing for dealers and customer finance and lease packages for all of Isuzu’s commercial truck dealers in the U.S. and for the company’s sport-utility and pickup truck dealers in the Western and Southeastern states.

Isuzu already has its accounting and legal services offices in Buena Park.

The company says that running its own financing unit gives it better control over the interest rates it can offer its customers--which gives it a better chance to win repeat buyers.

It also gives the company a second chance to book profits--once from the sale of the vehicle, the second time from the interest rates paid by customers who choose the in-house financing.
