Coming-Out Films Are Sought for Contest
The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, Outfest and MTV’s Bunin-Murray Productions are seeking short films telling coming-out stories for “BreakOut,” a first-of-its-kind film competition in Los Angeles.
The films, which must be 15 minutes or shorter, will be judged in separate amateur and filmmaker categories by a panel of filmmakers, video producers, film reviewers (including The Times’ Kevin Thomas) and other artists.
Winners ($1,000 and $2,000 cash prizes, respectively) and screenings will be announced on National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11.
Information: Gina Bowers at (213) 860-7357.
