NO MEHTA

There is a slight error in Mark Swed’s report on the new Arnold Schonberg Center (“Now He’s the Pride of Vienna,” June 21). Zubin Mehta was scheduled, but did not conduct, the center’s opening concert. He fell ill before his arrival in Vienna and was replaced by conductor Giuseppe Sinopoli.
I am also a bit skeptical that the “new” Vienna is quite as philo-Semitic as Swed would have us believe.
