Sonoma County Stops Streaking Vigilantes

The Vigilantes had got to .500 by taking four consecutive games from the last-place Pacific Suns, but they stepped up in competition Saturday and got knocked back to reality.

Sonoma County, which is in second place in the Southern Division of the Western Baseball League, beat the visiting Vigilantes, 16-2.

Sonoma’s John Bess hit a three-run home run in the first inning and the Crushers (22-16) added five runs on six hits in the second.

Mission Viejo (19-20) has three more games at Sonoma County before starting a three-game series Thursday with visiting Pacific that ends the first half of the season. The second half starts July 15th.
