The United Water Conservation District will be honored by the state for its efforts in conserving and managing water supplies.

The district will be recognized by an Assembly resolution at its board meeting Wednesday for its contributions in combating ground-water overdraft and seawater intrusion over the years.

The commendation recognizes a variety of district projects including Santa Felicia Dam on Piru Creek, which has created an 89,000-acre-foot reservoir and the Oxnard-Hueneme pipeline, which will deliver higher quality ground water to the region.
