Neighbors Help Fight House Fire
A fire erupted at a house Tuesday night in the Pierpont Bay area of Ventura, fire officials said.
Flames were seen rising from the roof in the back of the house at 1352 Beachmont St., with neighbors using garden hoses to keep the fire from spreading, witnesses told firefighters. The fire began about 9:10 p.m., fire officials said.
More than a dozen firefighters were still reported battling the blaze at 10 p.m.
Residents of the house had evacuated the structure by the time firefighters arrived, fire officials said. There were no reported injuries and cause of the fire had not yet been determined, officials said.
