Ruth Denas Wolcott; Toured With Bob Hope

Ruth Denas Wolcott of Glendale, a singer and entertainer who toured with Bob Hope and Ann Sheridan during World War II and who performed on local television for 10 years, has died. She was 74.

Wolcott began performing as a child with the Meglin Kiddies troupe before eventually embarking on a career as a nightclub performer. During World War II, she joined Sheridan in a touring show for U.S. servicemen in India, China, Burma and other southeast Asia countries. She eventually joined the Bob Hope USO tour and entertained in Europe. After the war, she appeared on the Chef Milani and Al Jarvis television variety shows in Los Angeles.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, sons Denis and Stephen and daughter, Robin Sayette.
