Scout One of 12 to Get Scholarship
Jeremy McRoberts from Explorer Post 1161 in Anaheim has received a national Eagle Scout scholarship.
McRoberts, 18, is one of 12 Scouts from across the country selected to receive a $3,000 scholarship, provided by the National Eagle Scout Assn. More than 2,300 Eagle Scout scholarship applications were submitted during the past year.
McRoberts became a Cub Scout when he was 8 years old and accomplished the rank of Eagle Scout by 14. He recently graduated from Loara High School and will start college in the fall at Brigham Young University in Utah, where he will study business and computer engineering.
“Scouting has been a great experience for me, and, to receive this recognition from the Boy Scouts is really exciting,” he said.
