Woman Held After Alleged Drug Sales

Share

A woman under house arrest on suspicion of selling drugs was arrested last week after she allegedly sold methamphetamine to undercover officers, police said.

Judith Dyann Lupex, 34, was wearing an ankle bracelet with an electronic monitor during three separate drug transactions, Sgt. Mike McDermott said. The Orange resident allegedly sold the officers a total of 3 ounces of methamphetamine and had her 5-month-old child with her during the sales, McDermott said.

On one occasion, Lupex allegedly asked undercover officers to meet her outside an office building, saying as soon as she completed the deal she had to go into the building and pay a fee to remain on electronic monitoring. The Orange County Probation Department had rejected Lupex for its house arrest program, McDermott said, and her monitoring was done through a private company working with the Orange County Superior Court.

Lupex was booked into Orange County Jail, with her ankle bracelet still in place, on suspicion of three counts of selling methamphetamine. Her bail was set at $50,000.
