Ducks’ Gauthier, Angels’ Bavasi to Speak at Lunch

Pierre Gauthier, the newly named president of the Mighty Ducks, and Bill Bavasi, Angel vice-president and general manager, will be the speakers at the monthly Sports Newsmakers Luncheon Tuesday at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.

Gauthier, appointed Thursday, returns to Anaheim, where he served previously as assistant general manager, from Ottawa, where he was general manager of the Senators since 1995. Bavasi is in his fifth year with the Angels.

The luncheon, which is open to the public, begins at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Reservations may be made by calling (714) 758-0222.
