Festival Will Be Part of Daylong Cleanup
In an effort to improve the area, residents of the Mayfair/Lodge neighborhood will join forces for a neighborhood cleanup and street festival today
Anaheim Police Officers Happy Medina and Timi Fife have been working with residents and apartment owners there for six months, dealing with complaints of gang activity, drug sales and substandard housing. This is part of Anaheim’s strategy to target specific areas for neighborhood improvement, Medina said.
Residents will sweep streets, pick up garbage and otherwise spruce up the neighborhood.
The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and there will be police canine, SWAT Mounted Unit and traffic-control demonstrations by officers throughout the day.
Entertainment and children’s activities will be hosted by Iglesia de Poder, a local church.
