A 22-year-old cyclist was struck and fatally injured by a car that may have run a red light, police said Wednesday.

Matthew Daniel Mills of Anaheim was riding south on Lewis Street at Katella Avenue about 5 p.m. Tuesday when a car going east on Katella hit him, police said.

Witnesses said the driver had entered the intersection driving between 35 and 40 mph after the light had turned red, police said.
