4 Arrested in Gang Rape Case

Four men were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of gang raping a woman in a Burbank hotel.

Rashawn Hurse 19, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Tony Matthews, 22, of Brooklyn; Lamarr Turner, 18, of Vancouver, Canada, and Peter Hayles, 26, of Orange, N.J., were being held on $150,000 bail each at the Burbank city jail, according to Burbank Police Lt. Don Brown.

Police were called to the Burbank Airport Hilton in the 2500 block of Hollywood Way near Thorton Avenue at 4:15 a.m., where a 24-year-old woman told them she had been raped, Brown said.

The woman told investigators she had accompanied at least one of the men back to the hotel following a rap performance at a West Hollywood club. “One thing led to another and she alleges there was a gang rape by four people,” Brown said.

The suspects told police they were associated with a rap group. But it was not clear late Wednesday whether they were performers, employees, friends or merely fans, police said.
