A Mission Hills man suspected of sexually assaulting two women at two local businesses has been arrested.

Wesley Stanley Cotton, 34, was arrested on suspicion of rape and robbery in connection with the two attacks early Saturday.

A man entered a business in the 17600 block of Chatsworth Street just before 7 a.m., and posing as a customer forced the lone employee into a back room, where she was sexually assaulted, Police Det. Gary Barthelmess said. The man then fled with undisclosed property.

About 10 minutes later, a man entered another business in the same block and assaulted another lone employee. Property was also stolen after that attack.

During a search of the surrounding area, Cotton was found hiding behind a business in the 17700 block of Chatsworth Street, police said. They said Cotton matched a detailed description given by the two victims.

Cotton is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned today.
