Murray’s Corvette
The June 4 article on Assemblyman Kevin Murray’s Corvette being pulled over in Beverly Hills says, “Murray explained that the plates on his state-leased car are issued by the Assembly.” Pardon me, but since when did the taxpayers of California start leasing Corvettes for anyone, especially an assemblyman? I can understand a big sedan for the governor and maybe a few others, but a sports car for anyone is outrageous.
Also, why is the registration information for these cars not available to law enforcement agencies? Clearly there is no privacy threat from them. Is it to keep secret this taxpayer-funded boondoggle? Someone needs to answer for this, big time.
