English Professor Earns Faculty Award

Rancho Santiago Community College District’s Distinguished Faculty Award this year was awarded to Santa Ana College English professor Lee Mallory.
The award is the highest honor bestowed by fellow faculty members. Mallory was chosen, district officials said, for his accomplishments as an educator and a poet.
His poems have been included in the International Who’s Who in Poetry and have received numerous commendations.
On campus, he helped build the English as a second language program, recognized as a model statewide, officials said. Mallory, who has written six books, also is an active member of the of the Academic Senate.
“After family, students and poetry mean everything to me,” Mallory said in a press release.
