Whittier Christian Can Add Bungalow

Share

Whittier Christian High School off Beach Boulevard in La Habra has been granted permission to expand, but its church and catering business need city permits.

The City Council last week approved the school’s proposal to add a bungalow for use as an administrative office.

A neighbor said that while she does not oppose the addition, she objects to noisy trucks using neighborhood streets at all hours to make food and milk deliveries to the campus.

Council members, in response to the complaint, imposed restrictions on the school: Deliveries must be between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., and trucks must enter and exit through the campus’ Beach Boulevard entrance.

In reviewing the school’s proposal, city officials said the campus also houses an unlicensed church and an unlicensed catering business.

Both must apply for city permits to continue operating.

A school official said the applications are being made.
