Police Substation Will Open in July

A new police substation will open in Pasadena next month in the 2900 block of East Colorado Boulevard.
The substation will be the first of its kind in California, with a direct video link to the Pasadena police headquarters, computers and officers, authorities said.
Money for the facility comes from the sale of a property owned by Kodak to a developer for a new shopping center. Councilman William Paparian won a concession from Kodak that as part of the deal it would pay $300,000 to the city for a new neighborhood police facility.
The substation was scheduled to open June 1, but officials say a delay in signing a final lease until this week caused the postponement until the first week of July.
