Power Outage Affects 1,400 Homes, Businesses

VENTURA — About 1,400 homes and businesses were left without power for nearly two hours Wednesday because of problems with an underground cable, company officials said.
The power outage began at 5:39 p.m. and affected customers in the area bounded by California 126 to the north, the Ventura Freeway to the south, South Victoria Avenue to the east and Saratoga Avenue to the west, said Ray Golden, a spokesman for Southern California Edison.
The crew “determined the outage was [caused by] a failed underground electrical connector,” he said.
Workers restored power to all the customers by 7:25 p.m., Golden said.
