Pedestrian Hit, Killed While Crossing Street
A 48-year-old man crossing Beach Boulevard was struck and killed by a car late Tuesday night, police said.
The pedestrian, Khe Nguyen of Anaheim, began to cross the boulevard just south of Glencoe Avenue about midnight when he was struck by a Mitsubishi Gallant, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Dan Johnson said.
Police determined the motorist was traveling at a safe speed but was unable to stop when Nguyen walked in front of his car.
The driver was uninjured; Nguyen died from his injuries at Columbia Huntington Beach Hospital and Medical Center, said Johnson.
Police closed Beach Boulevard between Glencoe and Heil avenues for 1 1/2 hours while officers investigated the accident.
