SMALL FACES: Rare and unreleased Beach Boys tracks and alternate versions of some of the group’s hits will be included on “Endless Harmony,” an album due in August in conjunction with a VH1 special about the band. . . . A live album is being compiled by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, for planned September release. . . .

Not only did Jonathan Richman provide the title song for the upcoming Ben Stiller-Cameron Diaz comedy “There’s Something About Mary,” but he also appears in the film four times, wandering through scenes singing the song as a quasi Greek chorus. The song will be on Capitol’s soundtrack album, due July 14, with the film opening the next day. . . .

Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart, set to tour with the semi-reunion the Other Ones on the Furthur Festival and with a new album from his Planet Drum world percussion ensemble due this month, is culling through tracks he recorded during a recent trip to Bali for a three-CD set to be released via his label, the World. The collection, featuring both traditional and modern artists, is due in the fall. . . .

Bow Wow Wow commissioned Joan Jett and Love & Rockets’ Kevin Haskins to do remixes of old tracks to include as bonuses on a live album recorded on the band’s recent revival tour of the U.S. Jett took on the early hit “C30, C60, C90.” The album is due from Cleopatra Records in September.
