Arts Festival

For making my Spring Arts Festival at the Alex Theatre on May 27 such a wonderful success, I would like to thank the performers from our local elementary, middle and high schools, their instructors, the behind-the-scenes volunteers and the more than 500 spectators who attended.

With so much violence and tragedy involving students in the news lately, I believe it is important to showcase the talents and achievements of our young people. The dazzling and heart-warming performances I witnessed made me proud to represent the 21st state Senate District and encouraged me in my legislative efforts as chairman of the Joint Committee on the Arts.
