Vigilantes Get Offense Going in 9-2 Victory Over Tri-City

The Vigilantes pounded the Tri-City Posse, 9-2, in a Western Baseball League game Sunday in front of an announced crowd of 2,586 at Saddleback College.

Designated hitter Tim McDonnell, first baseman Alan Burke and right fielder Brad Gennaro supplied the power for the Vigilantes (10-12), who scored three runs in the first inning.

McDonnell was three for four with three runs batted in, one of which came in the first inning. Burke had two doubles and two RBIs.

Gennaro, who homered in the sixth inning, was three for five.

Kirk Irvine (2-2) pitched a six-hitter through seven innings to get the victory for the Vigilantes.

Tri-City (10-12) scored runs in the third and eighth innings. Joe Elias (3-2) was the loser, giving up nine hits and eight runs in 4 1/3 innings.
