Beautification, Bylaws on New Council’s Agenda
The Brentwood Community Council will hear presentations tonight from two groups involved in beautifying the community, and will work on developing bylaws for the newly formed council, officials said.
At tonight’s public meeting, the group’s second, representatives from Brentwood Beautiful will discuss ways to improve the aesthetics of San Vicente Boulevard, and members of Brentwood Green will report on a project to plant grass and trees at the Brentwood Science Magnet School.
The 19-member council, modeled on a 25-year-old organization in Pacific Palisades, had its first meeting in May, said Kristen Montet, a deputy to City Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski, who represents both neighborhoods.
The group was formed to advocate for Brentwood with government and private agencies, attempt to solve local problems and effect improvements, and advise Miscikowski on matters relating to Brentwood.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Kaufman Branch Library, 11820 San Vicente Blvd.
