Northbound Freeway Ramps to Close Again
Although northbound freeway ramps at Rose Avenue in Oxnard reopened Friday, they will temporarily close again beginning tonight.
Exit and entrance ramps will close from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Thursday to allow for striping and the removal of temporary barriers, construction officials said.
In addition, motorists will encounter a series of lane closures in the area this week because of construction work that is likely to slow traffic even more than usual on the congested stretch of freeway:
* The southbound left lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Friday.
* The northbound right lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Wednesday.
* In addition, both the northbound left and center lanes will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday.
The disruptions are due to the new $11-million interchange and bridge under construction at Rose Avenue. The project is expected to be completed by April.
