School District Fees for Developers to Rise
- Share via
To pay for more classrooms and restrooms, the Conejo Valley Unified School District has agreed to increase developer fees.
The district board last week voted to raise the amount from $1.56 to $1.93 per square foot for residential development and from 26 cents to 31 cents per square foot for commercial development.
School trustee Dorothy Beaubien said failure of the district’s school bond measures last fall and this spring had nothing to do with the increase in fees.
As the student population and the need for facilities have increased, fees have not kept pace with demand, Beaubien said.
