Skirball Center to Host ‘Spotlight’ on Theater

Internationally known stage artists will share their views on the local and national theater scene in “Spotlight,” a new Saturday afternoon series at the Skirball Cultural Center.
The program, hosted by writer Barbara Isenberg, begins June 27 with Oscar and Grammy winner Stephen Schwartz, who wrote the music and lyrics for “Godspell” and “Pippin.”
Other sessions include Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein (“The Heidi Chronicles”) on July 25; director-producer and founder of Burbank’s Falcon Theatre, Garry Marshall (“Wrong Turn at Lungfish” and TV’s “Laverne & Shirley”) on Aug. 29; and Tony-winning actor John Rubinstein (“Ragtime”) on Sept. 26.
All sessions are at 2 p.m., and tickets are $12 per event.
