Agoura, Turner Close Down Ojai

David Turner came in with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning and struck out Josh Lake to preserve Agoura’s 6-5 victory over Ojai in an American Legion District 16 baseball game Thursday at Ventura College.

Turner, who pitched a no-hitter in his last appearance, had four strikeouts and earned his first save.

Brian Jacobsen drove in two runs with a first-inning triple for Agoura (7-5) and finished with three runs batted in.

David Johnson had two hits and two RBIs for Agoura.


Encino Crespi 5, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake 1--Mike Jackson pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk for Encino Crespi (9-0) in a District 20 game at Valley College.

Jackson (3-0) allowed an unearned run in the seventh for Encino Crespi, which committed four errors.

Marshall Plouffe had two hits, including a solo home run in the fourth to give Encino Crespi a 1-0 lead.

Max Flaum had two hits and two RBIs.


Adam Siegel had both hits for North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake (2-7).

Notre Dame 16, San Fernando 3--Jon Horwitz was four for four with five RBIs for Notre Dame in a District 20 that was called after six innings because of the 10-run rule at San Fernando (0-9).

Ryan Stonerock hit two doubles for Notre Dame (5-1), which scored eight runs in the second inning.

Calabasas 10, Burbank 0--Tony Sulser (2-1) pitched a two-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks for Calabasas (7-3) in a District 20 game at Calabasas High that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.


Sulser hit a double and Rick Stockton had two hits, including a two-run home run in the first.

Brian Millman had two hits for Calabasas.

Newhall-Saugus Hart 7, West Hills Chaminade 6--Tim Hutting hit a home run on the first pitch in the bottom of the seventh to give Newhall-Saugus Hart (9-1) a District 20 victory at Hart High.

Hutting (1-0) also hit a solo home run in the third and pitched two-thirds of an inning of relief, allowing one hit.


Camarillo B 12, Moorpark 11--Spencer Wyman singled home Justin Collins with the winning run in the fifth inning and Camarillo B (7-5) won a District 16 game at Camarillo High.

Wyman also had a double.

Matt Norris of Moorpark had three hits, including a double.

Justin Collins (2-0) pitched 2 1/3 innings of three-hit relief, allowing three earned runs.


Oxnard 10, Westlake 6--Kevin Germley hit a two-run double to highlight a five-run fourth inning for Oxnard in a District 16 game at Channel Islands High.

Joe Walsh had two hits for Oxnard (2-6), including a squeeze bunt.
