Encino Firm Submits Low Bid on Center
Fassberg Construction Co. of Encino has submitted the low bid for construction of the Agoura Hills-Calabasas Community Center.
The bids ranged from $4.5 to $5.3 million, according to officials.
The two cities have committed just over $4 million to pay for the center.
Agoura Hills will ante up $1.9 million from Proposition A park funds while Calabasas will pay $1 million in Proposition A funds and $1.5 million in developer fees from builders of the New Millennium homes on Parkway Calabasas.
About $70,000 has been raised by the Community Center Alliance. The Alliance had planned to raise $1.5 million for the center.
Officials say it’s hoped construction on the 30,000-square-foot center, which will include a dance floor, weight room and gym, will begin next month.
The site for the center is a 4 1/2-acre lot next to the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.
