Candidates’ Issues
I applaud The Times for its June 21 editorial, “Real Issues, Mr. Candidate.” Most recent gubernatorial campaigns have been devoid of issues that are meaningful to voters and this one appears to be no different. This, as much as anything else, has been a cause of dwindling voter turnouts.
However, I feel that it is health care that is the most important issue. It cuts across age and race lines and touches on a variety of economic issues. It is as pressing today as it was in 1994, when there were debates in Congress and the White House.
