Culver City Man Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash
A Culver City man driving south on Hayvenhurst Avenue died after running a red light and being struck by a sport utility vehicle Saturday afternoon, police said.
Rosalino Deoca, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Officer Gary Weller of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
The collision occurred about 3:10 p.m. when Deoca’s Toyota Corolla ran the light at Hayvenhurst and Chatsworth Street and was hit by a Toyota 4-Runner driven by Ruben Rombola, 23, of Mission Hills.
Rombola was not injured in the collision, but two passengers in his vehicle complained of minor injuries, Weller said. The incident is still under investigation, but alcohol was not believed to have been a factor, he said.
