Lincoln Avenue Plans Unveiled for Residents

After years of discussion, residents will have the chance to review a blueprint of the $6.5-million Lincoln Avenue improvement project.

A 20-foot-long model of the three-mile project will be on display at a meeting this week, City Manager Mark Ochenduszko said.

The project, extending from Coyote Creek Bridge to Valley View Avenue, will include changes to medians, sidewalks and other work aimed at attracting business and residents.

City leaders have made the project one of the top priorities for this year and next. It has been under consideration for several decades, but officials sped up plans last year. Officials said they hope to begin work in June; the project could be completed by the summer of 1999.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Cypress Senior Center, 9031 Grindlay St. Information: (714) 827-2430.
