With a Ventura County sheriff’s investigation completed Friday, the district attorney must decide whether to press charges against All-County linebacker Shane Brogdon of Moorpark High, arrested last week on suspicion of misdemeanor sexual battery.
Authorities were notified Brogdon might have been involved in a crime March 2 against a 17-year-old female at Moorpark High, Sgt. David Paige said. Paige declined to release details of the incident.
If formally charged, Brogdon, 18, would face a maximum sentence of one year in county jail.
The senior has been suspended from school pending the outcome of a separate school district investigation.
