An electrician armed with a semiautomatic handgun shot and killed two of his supervisors at a chemical plant Monday before killing himself, police said.

Authorities said Edilberto Sangco, 55, waited for his victims at a lunch truck at the General Chemical plant in the San Francisco suburb and shot them both several times.

He walked about 75 feet from the truck, stopped and shot himself, they said. Sangco, production manager Dale Laughlin and David Bradley, a maintenance supervisor, were all pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police said Sangco had been suspended for five days last week for failing to follow workplace procedures, but no clear motive had been determined for the shooting.

Police added that Sangco had had ample opportunity to turn the gun on other employees but had not done so.
