A toddler apparently struck by fragments of a bullet in a gang shooting was released from the hospital in good condition Tuesday, authorities said.

The 18-month-old girl, Lizzet Quintana, suffered no internal injuries, said Kim Pine, a UCI Medical Center spokeswoman.

Quintana was struck Monday about 3 p.m. outside a house in the 1300 block of West 3rd Street. Police said two men in a passing Chevrolet Monte Carlo shot the little girl while aiming at a teenage boy a block away. Police said gang signs were flashed before the shooting started.

Following a short pursuit, police arrested Damian Quinones, 19, of Tustin, and a 17-year-old boy after their car crashed into a tree in the 700 block of West Highland Street. They had stolen the Chevrolet earlier in the day in Santa Ana, police said. Officers said they recovered a gun from a nearby yard that they believe was used in the shooting.
