Seeking to expand the city’s 250-acre wilderness park in the South Hills, the City Council has agreed to buy more than nine acres of adjacent property.

The council late Tuesday agreed to spend $70,000 for the parcel near the Foothill Freeway east of Glendora Avenue.

The 9.08-acre parcel is owned by a savings and loan, according to Deputy City Manager Culver Heaton.
