City Council Meeting Set for Local Site

The Los Angeles City Council will meet April 28 in Lake View Terrace, the second council meeting to be held in the Valley this year.

The council agenda is expected to include a public hearing for the controversial Red Tail golf and equestrian facility.

The council, which had voted to deny a developer’s proposal to build an 18-course golf course in Big Tujunga Wash, decided in February to reconsider after the city attorney struck a deal with Foothills Golf to take another look at the project.

Some council members who oppose the golf course said they might change their votes on the issue if it is determined that fighting the developer in court would be too costly.

The council has until May 10 to reconsider the project.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Lake View Terrace Recreational Center, 11075 Foothill Blvd.

It is part of an ongoing effort to bring city government to the people, officials say. Over time, the council plans to meet in each of the council districts.
