Hospice Owners Get Zoning Extension
The city has agreed to give the owners of a new hospice an additional month to get their office into compliance with city zoning ordinances.
Shelley Chilton and Mary Leste own Tender Loving Care Health Hospice Inc., which opened a six-bed hospice on Maureen Lane, a cul-de-sac.
The owners moved the office portion of their business out of the house and into an industrial section of the city after officials said the office would violate residential zoning codes.
Then a letter from the city, dated March 17, notified the owners that the new location for the office violates zoning ordinances, which allow for industrial but not general office use.
To apply for a conditional use permit the owners must pay $4,300 or relocate their office.
The original deadline to comply was March 30, but it was extended to April 27.
