A Protest From Visalia

Share

I have been reading the Sunday Los Angeles Times for several years with great enjoyment. In reading “Season Opener” (Weekend Escape, March 8), I noticed a glaring omission in this article.

Anyone who has ever traveled to Sequoia National Park via California 99 to California 198 is aware that you have to travel through Visalia to reach Lemon Cove, Three Rivers and the park.

What have the city of Visalia and its residents done to offend your writers so much that any articles dealing with our area of the San Joaquin Valley, i.e., Tulare County, are always totally devoid of any mention of this city, and we are not even shown on your area maps?

In your opinion, are we nonexistent?
