Granada Hills Doubles Up on Kennedy

Dan Frisbee had two hits and drove in three runs to help Granada Hills High surprise Kennedy for the second time this week, 6-5, on Thursday in a North Valley League baseball game at Granada Hills.

The Highlanders (8-16, 4-8 in league play) beat the Golden Cougars, 10-9, on Tuesday.

Frisbee, a junior catcher, hit his fifth home run this season for the Highlanders.

Jon Bringuier hit his seventh home run for Granada Hills.

Jack Cassel had two home runs and three RBIs for Kennedy (18-7, 7-5).

Taft 6, Birmingham 3--Jeff Spector (3-3) struck out six and walked two and had two run-scoring doubles for the Toreadors in a West Valley League victory at Birmingham.

Jason Spector had a triple and a run-scoring double for Taft (9-12, 6-6).

Joey Rubin had four hits for Birmingham (9-15, 0-12).

Cleveland 4, San Fernando 1--Javier Gomez pitched a four-hitter and hit a two-run single to break a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning for the Cavaliers in a North Valley League game at Cleveland.

Max Santillan had singles in his first two at-bats to give him seven consecutive hits, but he grounded out in the fifth.

St. Francis 6, Hoover 1--Fernando Valenzuela (3-1), Gino Pierotti and Ariel Bellofiore combined on a three-hitter to help the Golden Knights win at Brookside Park in Pasadena.

Valenzuela and Andy LaRussa hit run-scoring doubles and Matt Blaney had a run-scoring single for St. Francis (11-7-1).

Lancaster 12, Littlerock 7--Eric Sundberg hit two three-run home runs and Zach Dominguez was three for three, including a solo home run, for the victorious Eagles (11-8, 4-6) in a Golden League game at Lancaster.

The Eagles, who had 26 errors in the last five games, did not make an error for the first time this season.

Milken 18, Highland Hall 0--Todd Elmore hit a run-scoring double to highlight a seven-run second inning for the Wildcats (9-1, 8-0) in a Valley League game at Milken.

Bobby Bassman had a two-run single in a five-run third inning for Milken.
