Royals’ Morris Strains Left Hamstring
Kansas City’s Hal Morris, second to Texas’ Ivan Rodriguez in the American League batting race at .395, left the Royals’ game against Boston after straining his left hamstring in the third inning.
“He’ll be evaluated tomorrow,” Kansas City Manager Tony Muser said. “But it doesn’t look good. We’ll make the decision tomorrow on whether to DL him.”
Morris departed after coming up lame running to first on a potential double-play ball.
By leaving the game without a hit, his hitting streak ended at 10 games. Morris had a 12-game streak earlier this season.

To replace him on the roster, the Rangers recalled pitcher Al Levine from triple-A Oklahoma City. Levine appeared in two games with the Rangers earlier this season before being sent to Oklahoma City on Monday.
