Saddleback 9, Glendale 0--Ryan Poe (13-1) pitched a complete game and struck out 10 to earn his 13th victory, the most in Saddleback history. He gave up eight singles and no walks.

Kirk Bolling (three for five, three RBIs) hit his 17th homer, a two-run shot in the first, to tie Steve DeAngelis’ 1984 single-season school record. It was Bolling’s ninth consecutive hit over three games. Saddleback (33-9) hosts Glendale (24-16) at 11 today.

Cuesta 8, Cypress 5--Brandon Pack had three hits and Nate Endicott drove in three runs for Cypress (22-21). Gabe Gerhardt also hit his ninth home run for the Chargers, who must win twice today to advance.

In the Southern California softball playoffs:

Cypress 3, Saddleback 1--Mandy Rockwell pitched an eight-hitter as Cypress advanced to the championship game of the Southern California Regional at Cypress. Michelle Bailon had two hits and two RBIs for Cypress, the defending state champion.

The Chargers (48-5) await the winner of the elimination bracket championship game. In that game, Saddleback will play the winner of College of the Canyons and Bakersfield.

Anna Skidmore had three hits and Nikki Nunes had two hits for the Gauchos (26-12).

Cypress beat Canyons, 4-0, and Saddleback pounded Bakersfield, 17-1, in first-round games Friday.

Long Beach 1, Santa Ana 0--Beatrice Ochoa scored the game’s only run as Long Beach (33-9) advanced to the Southern California Regional Championship.

Deborah Arostique had two hits for Santa Ana (21-18), which plays the Southwestern-Ventura winner in a consolation game at noon.
