Iba Dasher turned the $383,000 Kindergarten Futurity trials on Friday night into a history-making event with what is believed to be the fastest 300-yard time ever turned in by a 2-year-old in the 48-year history of Los Alamitos Race Course.

Trained by Donna McArthur, Iba Dasher won the fourth of 12 Kindergarten trials by 3 3/4 lengths, stopping the clock in 15.33 seconds. Her effort came on the heels of Flash First’s stellar performance in the second trial, which she won by two lengths in 15.37 seconds with Eddie Garcia aboard.

The Los Alamitos 300-yard track record is 15.21 seconds, which was set in 1992 by 4-year-old mare Ima Ladys Alibi. IBA Dasher and Flash First are sure to be favorites in the $383,000 Kindergarten Futurity, to be held May 22 at Los Alamitos.
